Eivør will be doing a solo concert in Iceland this coming Sunday, the 22nd, in Langholtskirkja. The concert starts at 8pm and she will be performing some of her old songs, including some new songs from her upcoming CD.

Saturday January 14, Eivør will be participating in a concert celebrating the 40 year regent anniversary of Queen Margrethe II in Denmark. The show will be broadcasted directly on Danish Television DR1 at 8pm Danish time.
Eivør will be performing “May it be” from Lord of the rings. Among others, you will also be able to hear Faroese Teitur perform.

Eivør will be performing at the annual Christmas concert at Langholtskirkja in Reykjavik, Iceland 16-18th of December. She will be performing three songs, including a new song in memory of us of all those who are no longer with us. It is dedicated to her dad who passed away earlier this year.

The Faroes chief Tróndur í Gøtu and the Icelandic chief Egill Skallagrímsson meet in the Nordic House in Tórshavn on Sunday Nov. 13. at 19.30.

We are talking about two music pieces written by the famous English composer Gavin Bryars.  One of the pieces is inspired by the history of the Faroese Trand of Gøtu and the other piece is inspired by the Icelandic Egill Skallagríms. Both men were powerful men, having a great impact on their country.
The music is written for orchestra, choir and soloist. Eivør will sing the sopran and Faroese bass soloist Rúni Brattaberg sings the bass solo. The Faroese orchestra Aldubáran is playing and the choir Eystanljóð, coming from Tróndur´s village, is singing.

Gavin Bryars is conducting both pieces at the Nordic House on Sunday night.

The music is contemporary/classical, well sounding and atmospheric.

Eivør’s Denmark tour has started and is going strong. They have been playing to full venues all over Denmark and their last stop will be in Bremen Copenhagen. For tickets click here.

On October 1st in Tórshavn, Eivør will be performing alongside María Ellingsen and Reijo Kela in ‘The Journey of the Phoenix’, a theater-dance-music hyprid.

The  piece was created by María and Reijo, with Eivør writing all the music. It has been performed in Reykjavik, Iceland but now they are bringing it to Tórshavn, Faroe Islands and hopefully soon to Helsinki, Finland.
